Sarasota has a subtropical climate. So, you expect warmer fall and winter seasons than most of the mainland US. This is great weather to have fun outdoors as the year comes to a close. Ready for a meeting with nature? Let’s explore some outdoor activities that you may engage in.

Explore the Mangrove Tunnels on a Kayak

Get lost in the natural zigzags of mangrove forest on a kayak. The jungle maze takes you through serene, green mangrove trees with roots cropping up. The water is so clear that you will see a fish darting around after a while. Crabs also hang on the branches overhead. If you have a phobia of the sea urchins, prepare for some pleasant crab drops on your kayak every now and then, which is fun. This feels more like Alice in Wonderland, except the wonderland is on water.

Try Yoga and Lazing Around at Siesta Key

Siesta Key boasts of an expansive white sand beach. It is perfect for lazing around, enjoying a warm morning, or practicing some yoga. If you are into lazing around, come with a mat and a fully charged device to play some mobile games as you enjoy the cool breeze of the sea. For casino gamers, blackjack.guide has easy-to-follow guidelines to make your beachside blackjack gaming a fun one.

On the other hand, if you are a yoga enthusiast, join one of the local yoga instructors for an early morning relaxation and mindfulness routine. There are tens of such enthusiasts that come to the beach for yoga by the pristine waters and a calm environment where they are in sync with nature.

Go Fishing at Vernice Fishing Pier

There is no greater way to enjoy the shores than casting a line at the Vernice Fishing Pier. The raised platform makes it easier to cast your reels and enjoy warm conversations as you try your luck. What’s more? A pod of dolphins regularly visits the sports fishermen and puts on a show worth remembering.

Once you are done fishing, head to Sharky’s or Fin’s for a generous helping of seafood or to wind down the evening with a drink. All these places are child friendly. So, you can come with your entire family.

Bike through Legacy Trail

The Legacy Trail is sandwiched between downtown Sarasota and Venice. The family-friendly trail is great for everyone aged five years and above. You can come with your bikes or hire some for your biking. Set up biking challenges pitting members against each other for bragging rights. The trail is paved. So, it won’t be about endurance biking but just fun.

The area around the trail is lush and green, and different birds, with some as large as sandhill cranes, come to enjoy nature. Therefore, if you are a bird watcher, pack a good camera to capture any of them as they go about their business. One interesting thing is that many of them have gotten used to humans and are completely unbothered by them.

Family Fun at St. Armands Circle

After fun by the seashores, you can cool down your evenings with a stroll through St. Armands Circle. This place lights up into the night, especially towards Christmas. The palm-lined streets glister under strands of lighting, especially around Christmas. There is lots of outdoor music, live performances, nice places for an outdoor dinner, and crafts for children. If you are lucky, you could be around when Santa is visiting and get surprised by a gift or chocolate.

Take a Sunset Cruise

Your sightseeing expedition is incomplete without a sunset cruise. Three companies, Marina Jack, Sarasota Bay Explorers, and LeBarge Tropical Cruises, take visitors on casual sightseeing expeditions. They are greeted with cocktails and light food to keep them in high spirits as they watch the beautiful sunset over the bay.

Come with your camera to capture the golden moments, especially the sun oars over the horizon. Cruises are also great for couples that are looking to bond. You spend quality time chatting and laughing as you explore the waters in the evenings.

Explore Sarasota Farmer's Market

The farmers market at Sarasota is more of a social experience than actually buying food. Vendors come on Saturdays with everything you would think of: themed stalls, outdoor performances, fresh produce, souvenirs, clown shows and family fun. There are also kids’ activities like water slides, face painting and pony rides. Plan your time, as most of the activities end at 1 pm. You can also take the time to sample street food at one of the many eateries across town.

Catch Live Music in Downtown Sarasota

Sarasota’s downtown has an amazing nightlife where you can party until you drop. Start your evening by taking a stroll down Palm Avenue and enjoying the classic architecture. Then, continue north into the art district and get into one of the rooftop bars for music and a view of the Sarasota skyline.

Main Street is also home to several clubs and has opportunities for street-side dining. You are also likely to find an ongoing outdoor concert, especially across the weekend. If that is not enough, you may catch live music at Van Wezel Bayfront Lawn along 777 N Tamiami Trail. Here, you can enjoy daytime live music and dancing, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays.

There is so much to explore in Sarasota this fall, whether solo or with family. Check the sites and sites around the city and personalize your itinerary to match your preference. We guarantee it will be fun and memorable.
