Invest in the Power of Girls

Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County launched “Invest in the Power of Girls” to help young girls develop professional skills such as personal presentation, public speaking, teamwork, learning from mistakes and conflict resolution. Eighty percent of those who participate move on to higher education and successful careers. 2013 Unity Awards

Biz(941) and La Guia magazine's third annual Unity Awards luncheon honors local champions of diversity. The event is on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Michael’s On East Ballroom in Sarasota. It features an inspiring performance from “We Are Sarasota,” a musical and educational collaboration presented by the Sarasota County Bar Association Diversity Committee in partnership with Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe and Booker High School’s Visual & Performing Arts program.
