Kicking off the holiday and musical season, Sarasota Concert Association presents A Chanticleer Christmas, featuring the Grammy Award-winning male vocal ensemble that has been hailed by The New Yorker as “the world’s reigning male chorus.” Praised around the world for their wide-ranging musical styles and dazzling virtuosity, Chanticleer will ring in the holidays, performing a program of renaissance and classical music including Ave Maria by Franz Biebl, as well as traditional and festive holiday favorites, from “Merry Christmas, darling” to “O Come All Ye Faithful.” A joyous program, performed in the Sarasota Opera House, to get you in the holiday spirit!

Now in its 78th season of presenting world-renowned orchestras, chamber ensembles and soloists, the Sarasota Concert Association brings a stunning array of internationally-acclaimed artists to Sarasota and Venice this season.

National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine performs at the Venice Performing Arts Center on January 18.
On January 18, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine comes to the Venice Performing Arts Center for a one-night-only special engagement. Based in Lviv, the orchestra is the national orchestra of Ukraine. Under the direction of conductor Theodore Kuchar, the Orchestra will perform Dvorak’s New World Symphony and will also feature Ukrainian violinist Vladyslava Luchenko performing Brahms’ Violin Concerto.

The Emerson String Quartet comes to Sarasota as part of their farewell tour on January 30, performing Beethoven, Haydn and Mendelssohn. Acclaimed for his musical insight and moving performances, pianist Awadagin Pratt performs a program of piano masterworks including Rachmaninoff and Liszt.

In his last season as Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Riccardo Muti conducts his internationally acclaimed orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 and Mussorgsky’s Pictures From an Exhibition. This is a unique opportunity to witness their extraordinary partnership.

JoAnn Falletta conducts the Buffalo Philharmonic.

The most recorded chamber orchestra in the world, the London-based English Chamber Orchestra presents a program of Elgar, Mozart and Haydn. And as a finale to the season, Music Director JoAnn Falletta leads the Grammy Award-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7 and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto featuring violinist Sandy Cameron.
