U.S. Chamber Awards Sarasota Chamber With 5-Star Accreditation

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce a 5-Star Accreditation for its policies, procedures and community impact.

Resurrection House, a day center for the homeless in downtown Sarasota, has announced Joe Reuth as its new executive director. He takes over from interim executive director Mason Ayres, who has served in the role for the past two years.

The Sarasota County Fire Department earned national recognition from the American Heart Association, receiving the 2025 Mission: Lifeline EMS: Gold with Target: Heart Attack Honor Role and the new Target: Stroke Honor Roll awards.

The Manatee Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the winners of its 11th annual Champions of Healthcare Awards: Daniel Friedrich (Lifetime Achievement); Quynh Tran, Braden River High School (Youth Volunteer), Lin Oakerson, Empath Health / Tidewell Hospice (Adult Volunteer), Heart and Cardiovascular Center, Manatee Memorial Hospital (Innovation / Research), Collaborative Action Therapy for Children’s Health (C.A.T.C.H.) Program, Step Up Suncoast, Inc. (Institution / Program), Elizabeth Brown, Manatee Memorial Hospital (Allied Health Professional), Diane Aubrey, Manatee Memorial Hospital (Nurse), DrChristopher Cooper, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center/Cooper Family Medical (Physician), and Melvin Price, MCR Health (Individual of Merit).

The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort has named Emily Bond as its new director of marketing.  

 The Child Protection Center awarded its Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Walter Lambert at its annual Blue Ties & Butterflies Gala. The award honors Lambert's career dedicated to protecting children, advancing medical knowledge and leading transformational change within Florida’s child welfare system.

Turning Points announced the appointment of Melissa Allen to its board of directors and the return of John Shehorn as treasurer.

The Sarasota Ballet School has announced that Diane Partington has rejoined its faculty.

Sarasota Young Voices has announced the appointment of Rebecca Kellerman-Filsell as the organization’s new associate artistic director and operations manager.

Tommy Gregory, president of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, has been selected to join Leadership Florida’s Cornerstone Class 43. The program brings together 55 state leaders for a nine-month educational experience designed to refine leadership skills and provide insights into Florida’s history, challenges and future opportunities.

The Sarasota Players recently appointed four new members to its board of trustees: Leigh and Michael Tesar, Jeffery Carlson and Joey Scheerle
