Sarasota Chamber Announces 2022-2023 Board of Directors

Plus, the Sarasota EDC presented its annual awards and impact report and Turning Points was named Sarasota-Manatee Neighborhood Champion by Bank of America.

Long-time staff member Darren L. Gambrell has been promoted to associate director for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus.
 
Three Sarasota County teachers have been named finalists for the Sarasota County Teacher of the Year Award. They are Timothy Ferguson, Garden Elementary School (elementary);  Joseph Conner, Venice Middle School (middle school); and Courtney Smith, Booker High School (high school).

Caldwell Trust Company has hired Kendall Peacock as vice-president and senior portfolio manager.

Visit Sarasota County recently hired Olivia Turpening as its new communications project coordinator. She will be responsible for supporting the organization's communications efforts, media relations and storytelling.

Ian Black Real Estate has promoted Tracy Page to office manager. In this role, Page will play an integral role in supporting the firm’s sales and property management teams. Page previously served as assistant property manager at the firm. She’s been with Ian Black Real Estate since 2012.

Gulfcoast South AHEC recently elected new board officers and members. They are Christine Coviello, board chair; Rodica Vasilescu, vice-chair; Cirelle Fitzimmons, treasurer. Ximena Granada and Taylor Collignon were elected as new members, joining Diane Ramseyer, Victoria Reinhartz, Caitlin Auers and Karina Clarke.

Awards

Local nonprofit Turning Points has been named the 2022 Bank of America Neighborhood Champion in Sarasota-Manatee. The nonprofit received a $50,000 grant in support of its work to provide, coordinate and facilitate services to prevent and reduce homelessness.

S-One Holdings Corporation, a global company headquartered in Sarasota with a focus on the digital imaging industry, has been named an honoree of the Inc. 2022 Best in Business list in the Sustainability category.

At its recent Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon, the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County highlighted its work in the community and presented the Clyde Nixon Business Leadership Award to Rob Lane of Kerkering Barberio and the Ringling College of Innovation by Creative Design Award to Cordell Jeter of EcoRover Chairs.
