JFCS of the Suncoast will offer a weekly online discussion group to help participants deal with the effects of Covid-19. Hosted via Zoom, the sessions will be based on author Nancy Schlossberg’s book Overwhelmed: Coping with Life’s Ups and Downs and co-led by Schlossberg and retired attorney Michael Karp on Thursdays from 1:30-3 p.m beginning Jan. 7. The book is not required for the sessions.

A professor emerita of counseling psychology at the University of Maryland who is often quoted in national news stories, Schlossberg is considered an expert on life transitions and has written 10 books on the topic. Karp is a retired civil law trial attorney who has devoted himself to learning more about the importance of socialization and staying connected during the pandemic. Both are longtime Sarasota residents.
