There are few restaurant amenities more popular than views of the water, particularly in Florida—and, as of this summer, local diners have one more waterfront option. In July, Floridays Woodfire Grill & Bar opened in the Compass Hotel Anna Maria Sound in Bradenton.

The restaurant has a beachy, fish house style, with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was created by chef Cesare Caldaelli, who spent seven years as the executive chef at IMG Academy's country club. The food is Southern-inspired, with fried green tomatoes, fried oysters and hush puppies, plus steaks and burgers. The restaurant also offers a special takeout menu and even picnic meals that are made to be taken to the beach or eaten on a boat.

The Compass hotel has a Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville theme and includes 123 rooms. It is located on Anna Maria Sound, just east of Anna Maria Island.

Floridays Woodfire Grill & Bar is located inside the Compass Hotel Anna Maria Sound, 12324 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, and is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more info, call (941) 741-9700 or visit the hotel website.
