Four Cool Things About Sarasota's New Lucky's Market
A grocery store with beer on tap? Why yes, I would enjoy that, thanks.
One of a handful of new grocery stores opening in the Sarasota area this year, Lucky's Market officially threw its doors open to the public on Tuesday. I attended a preview party Monday evening, during which invitees got to stroll and sample from the store's hot and cold prepared foods bars, its deli counter and more. It was dope.
Cool Thing #1: Lucky's is more than a grocery store. It's part of a trend toward establishments called "grocerants," which include the usual shopping options, along with kiosks serving prepared dishes and tables where diners can sit and hang. Lucky's has a ramen and sushi station, a made-to-order sandwich stop and more.

Cool Thing #2: Drink while you shop! Right when you enter, swerve to the left, where you can grab a glass of craft beer or wine at budget prices ($2 for a pint of beer, $3 for a glass of wine). The Sarasota Lucky's is even partnering with Bradenton's Darwin Brewing Co. to offer a handful of exclusive brews that will change with the seasons and that can be purchased in cans, too.

Cool Thing #3: Lucky's smokes meats in-house, which results in fresher deli meats and outstanding bacon.

Cool Thing #4: The Lucky's tagline is "organic for the 99 percent," and the Colorado-based chain offers a big pick of nice-looking fruits and vegetables, along with dry bulk items and olive oil and balsamic vinegar on tap.
