TREVISO’S “Caprese Panini”The Place

Treviso, 5401 Bay Shore Road, in the Ringling Museum visitors’ pavilion. The clean, sophisticated dining room features a wall-sized etching of Asolo, Italy, opposite sunlit windows that reveal patio seating and the museum’s lush, historic grounds.

The Crowd

Business leaders introducing fresh-off-the-plane, out-of-town associates to a Sarasota icon; museum visitors; groups of local arts patrons celebrating special occasions.

Time Factor

A single course (including flavorful rolls and butter) will allow you to eat and be on your way in under an hour—assuming you don’t have to wait for a table.

The Food

Classic sandwiches (the “John R. Burger,” paninis or the hot beef with au jus) and a number of generous, artistic entrée salads run in the vicinity of $12 to $15. Or, inspired by the grand setting, you may want to go for baroque with a selection of small plates like the classic antipasto or truffle fries, plus a glass or two from the Wine Spectator award-winning wine list.
