WBTT Hires Jim Weaver as Education Director/Artistic Associate

Weaver will oversee and grow adult and youth programs, as well as direct shows and staged readings.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) has hired Jim Weaver as its new education director/artistic associate. In his new role, Weaver will oversee and grow adult and youth programs such as the WBTT Voices Community Forum, the Jazzlinks and Rhythm & Tales school outreach programs, the Stage of Discovery summer musical theater intensive program, and other emerging workshop opportunities. He will also direct shows and staged readings. Weaver begins his tenure on August 1, 2021.

Most recently, Weaver was director and professor of theater studies for Kent State University at Stark. He holds a MFA degree in acting and has earned awards for his academic and theatrical achievements; he has also appeared in multiple on- and off-Broadway productions. Weaver begins his tenure at WBTT on August 1, 2021.
