Downtown Sarasota's Bold Cowork recently announced that it is launching a new “Community Empowerment Program” for local entrepreneurs. The program will provide workspace and business resources to young adults, ages 18 to 40, who are interested in starting or growing a small business, non-profit, or other community-oriented project, but lack the financial resources to get started.

Applicants who meet admission requirements will receive complimentary Cowork memberships (typically $150 per month) for either a three- or six-month period, depending on application type. Memberships can be extended by re-applying within 30 days of expiration, and may total up to 12 months of complimentary membership to Bold Cowork.

The program is open to anyone who resides in either Sarasota or Manatee counties, and individuals of minority identity are encouraged to apply; however, non-minority individuals who have experienced personal hardship may also be eligible. Bold Cowork says minority identity is inclusive of ethnic, tribal or racial identity, cultural identity, religious affiliation, linguistic ability, biological gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality or citizenship, and refugee or other immigration status. There is no cap on the number of entrepreneurs being accepted, and no deadline for the application. Interested applicants can find a PDF application packet here.
