Best Rooftop Bars in Sarasota-Manatee

Don’ t just bar hop; rooftop bar hop.

Presented by Things To Do June 6, 2019

The best part about being in Florida is that it is always warm enough to have a drink outside. And rooftop bars are all within a couple blocks of each other in downtown Sarasota, so make an evening of it.

The Westin: One of the first rooftop bars in Sarasota-Manatee and the one with best view. Go here to take fabulous Instagram pics in front of panoramic views of downtown Sarasota and the Gulf of Mexico. The hotel is taller than any of the others in the area, allowing you to overlook the city and the water without any other buildings in the way. It is a wonderful place to go for happy hour and watch the sunset. Try going during the week, because there can be long lines outside the elevator on the weekends.

Art Ovation: Art Ovation is a funky hotel featuring vibrant abstract art throughout the building. The rooftop bar has great cocktails and serves them in reusable plastic glasses. Art Ovation is focused on promoting and supporting the growing art community within Sarasota-Manatee. It allows you to support local artists while having a great drink at the bar.

Sage: Sage is the only rooftop bar that is not attached to a hotel. It is all about creativity. The bartenders are concocting innovative infusions with tinctures and syrups. Like Art Ovation, drinks are served in reusable plastic glasses that are better for the environment. If you are looking to try something different in a rustic-yet-modern environment, look no further. Definitely order something from the dinner menu as well; you will not be disappointed.

Each rooftop bar has something unique and special to offer. With beautiful views, wonderful drinks, and great service, you cannot go wrong visiting any or all of these rooftop bars.
