Real estate sales in Sarasota and Manatee counties were down 16.8 percent in September when compared to September 2016, largely due to closures and evacuations caused by Hurricane Irma. New listings also decreased. The number of new single family homes on the market decreased by 31.8 percent and new condo listings decreased by 20.9 percent, according to statistics published by the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee.
