Sarasota Contemporary Dance (SCD) has announced its 11th season, one that artistic director Leymis Bolaños-Wilmott says will be “filled with energy and passion.”

Bolaños-Wilmott also says the company’s 10th season saw a growth in ticket sales, making it possible to once again offer season subscriptions to the four-performance season for $149, with performances held at the Jane B. Cook Theater at the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. Here’s the line-up.

Jazz + SCD, Oct. 13-16

The dance troupe joins with jazz musicians led by local trumpeter Shane Chalke for a collaboration of movement and music influenced by jazz, featuring new arrangements of favorites from Chalke’s latest CD, Jazz in Thin Air.

Voices of Sarasota Contemporary Dance, Dec. 1-4

The annual Voices show features original and adventurous works choreographed by company members and emerging choreographers chosen during the company’s summer festival to expand their works for the mainstage.

Dance Makers—11th Annual Concert, Feb. 9-12

This performance will feature dance pieces by choreographers Michael Foley, Doug Gillespie and Adele Myers—works selected to present a range of contemporary dance for a multigenerational and multicultural audience.

Evolving/Revolving, May 11-14

The season finale will remember dancers and choreographers who have performed with SCD before as well as ones nationally celebrated, including restaged favorites by Alyson Dolan and new works by local hip-hop artist Kris Tetris Powell and former Sarasota Ballet stalwart Sayward Grindley.
