Barnes & Noble, the national bookseller, is opening a second local location at the Mall at University Town Center on Wednesday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. The new, 14,000-square-foot store will is located on Cattlemen Road where the holiday ice skating rink was previously located; it was built by Benderson Development Company. It's the only bookstore in the UTC area; Sarasota's other Barnes & Noble is located at 4010 S. Tamiami Trail. The company operates 630 stores in all 50 states, in addition to its e-commerce website.
