SOAR Learning Center, Inc. of Sarasota has been awarded a grant of $49,500 from United Way Suncoast for its Family Literacy Project. This award marks the second year United Way Suncoast has provided funding for SOAR Learning Center to continue its mission and engage students and their families in activities such as parent-only sessions, which guide effective reading strategies to enhance children’s reading level. It also includes parent-child sessions for fun interactive reading and bonding, and children-only reading that is reinforced through SOAR's after school instruction and free books. The program serves the Newtown community.
