Sip & Stay (Home) with Rare Napa Valley Wines

A virtual wine tasting will benefit Animal Rescue Coalition.

Presented by Animal Rescue Coalition December 31, 2020

A tasting of three rarefied Napa Valley wines is a highlight of this year's Celebration of Unconditional Love.

Did you miss your trip to Napa last year? Local nonprofit Animal Rescue Coalition is bringing Napa Valley to you this February as part of their annual fundraiser, the Celebration of Unconditional Love. ARC Board Chair Joanna Pace-Brackett and her husband, Dave Brackett, Presenting Sponsors for the 2021 Celebration of Unconditional Love, have created a unique sponsorship level that is sure to thrill local wine aficionados.

Heidi Peterson Barrett, award-winning winemaker for La Sirena—a small-production Napa Valley winery—will host an exclusive tasting virtually for sponsors of ARC’s annual fundraiser. Barrett, named Best Winemaker for 2020 by Napa Valley Life magazine, was one of the first female winemakers to garner worldwide attention in the 1980s, crafting four Robert Parker 100-point wines for Dalla Valle and Screaming Eagle. She even set a world record for the highest price ever paid for a single bottle of wine ($500,000 for a 6L bottle of 1992 Screaming Eagle at the Napa Valley Wine Auction in 2000).

La Sirena makes around 2,000 cases of six different wines each year. While they are not sold locally, three of these wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Pirate TreasuRed, and the Moscato Azul, will be featured during the virtual tasting.

“The committee was looking for something unique to add to the event, something to set us apart,” notes ARC Executive Director Mary Dietterle. “When the Bracketts mentioned Heidi Barrett, a pioneering female winemaker, I jumped at the opportunity to work with her.”

ARC’s annual Unconditional Love event is one of the mainstays of the Sarasota “season.” And while the wine-tasting portion of the event is coming from Napa Valley, ARC remains committed to “supporting local.” Included among the sponsorship/ticket options are dinner delivered to your door from Michael’s on East on the evening of the event or dining certificates from the award-winning restaurant that can be used at anytime. Cliff Roles, a popular local celebrity photographer, is offering specially priced photo sessions so that guests and their pets can be part of the celebration.

While the wine is NOT for your pets, they can join you on the couch during the virtual tasting.

ARC has created a special sponsorship level called Sit, Stay & Sip for $3,750. It includes two bottles of each of the three wines and access to the virtual event with Barrett. “We understand that not everyone is as crazy about animals as we are, but we hope that this experience will introduce them to our organization and the lifesaving work that we do,” says Dietterle.

Sit, Stay & Sip sponsorships of $3,750 and higher will afford you access to this exclusive event.
