Taylor Morrison is expanding in Sarasota with Legacy Estates on Palmer Ranch, a community of 147 single-family home sites off Palmer Ranch Parkway east of Honore Avenue. Open-concept floor plans will range from 2,862 to 4,789 square feet. Models will be ready for viewing later this fall.

Neal Signature Homes is purchasing the last remaining 32 home sites in Collingtree at Country Club East in Lakewood Ranch. A company spokeswoman says it will close on eight of the sites this year, with the remainder closing in early 2017, and will begin selling and building for customers. Collingtree will have 115 maintenance-free residences at build-out.

Residential construction is under way at Lake Timber, the first community in the new solar-powered development Babcock Ranch in Charlotte County, and a company spokesman says that developer Kitson & Partners remains on track to begin welcoming its first residents in early 2017. Home builders are Fox Premier Builders, Homes by Towne, Stellar Living Homes and Stock Development. Babcock Ranch at build-out will be a town of 50,000 residents.
