Marie Selby Botanical Gardens recently launched a series of virtual tours, giving students the opportunity to learn more about Sarasota's environment from their classrooms. Since the program's kickoff in January, nearly 1,000 students nationwide have connected with the program, thanks to the education team at the gardens who created the tours. Students can virtually stroll along the bayfront at the gardens to learn about mangroves, go aboard the Carefree Learner on Sarasota Bay to learn about marine life or visit Historic Spanish Point to learn about pioneer life. Virtual tours come with a downloadable curricular packet supporting state education standards.
