Resilient Retreat has received grant from the Love IV Lawrence Foundation, an organization focused on changing the conversation around mental health by destigmatizing depression and suicide. The funding will allow Resilient Retreat to provide more than 100 equine therapy sessions to first responders, medical personnel and teachers in the community. Research supports equine therapy as an effective treatment for those struggling with anxiety, PTSD, depression, and substance abuse— all issues for which our community’s first responders are at high risk due to the unique pressures of their work.
