CARES Act Funding Applications Now Available in Sarasota County

A total of $18.9 million in CARES Act funds is available for individuals and businesses for expenses dating back to March 1, 2020.

A total of $18.9 million is available to Sarasota County residents through Coronavirus Relief Fund allocations.

Applications for financial assistance for individuals and businesses impacted by Covid-19 are now available through Sarasota County's Coronavirus Relief Fund allocations. A total of $18.9 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, And Economic Security (CARES) Act funds is available for individuals and businesses for expenses dating back to March 1, 2020.

For individuals, eligible expenses include rent, mortgage, utilities, vehicle payment, vehicle repair, child care, telecommunications and workforce assistance. For businesses, eligible expenses include rent, mortgage, utilities, payroll expenses, protective equipment, adapting a business to comply with CDC guidelines, COVID-19 testing costs, marketing (to reopen a business) and perishable item inventory. Additionally, a dedicated Sarasota County CARES Funds Call Center is available by calling (941) 861-CARE (2273). Call center hours are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
