Applications for financial assistance for individuals and businesses impacted by Covid-19 are now available through Sarasota County's Coronavirus Relief Fund allocations. A total of $18.9 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, And Economic Security (CARES) Act funds is available for individuals and businesses for expenses dating back to March 1, 2020.

For individuals, eligible expenses include rent, mortgage, utilities, vehicle payment, vehicle repair, child care, telecommunications and workforce assistance. For businesses, eligible expenses include rent, mortgage, utilities, payroll expenses, protective equipment, adapting a business to comply with CDC guidelines, COVID-19 testing costs, marketing (to reopen a business) and perishable item inventory.
