This Saturday, April 22, is the 48th annual Earth Day, marking the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970 and celebrating and promoting current environmental issues. Here's how to celebrate and give back to the planet this weekend.

The fabulous Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey hosts an all-day Earth Day fest with earth-friendly vendors, guided hikes, live music, a photography contest and all sorts of family-friendly activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
