Florida comes in at No. 30 in a new ranking of states based on seniors' health issued by the United Health Foundation, a drop of six places from last year's ranking. Excessive drinking among seniors has decreased, as have preventable hospitalizations, but "frequent mental distress" has become more common and the rate of flu vaccinations has decreased. The state ranks as No. 36 in overall health and as No. 40 in women's and children's health. Minnesota, Utah and Hawaii ranked No. 1, 2 and 3 in senior health, while Oklahoma, Kentucky and Mississippi ranked No. 48, 49 and 50.
