Mable Ringling loved both roses and Italy. Her first landscape project on the Ringling property was completed in 1913, representing an Italian Rose Garden.

Learn how to prepare a garden, plant, prune, fertilize, water, and care for roses in the Florida climate. Karen Smith, the curator of Mable Ringling’s rose garden, will walk you through everything you need to know to add roses to your southern garden. 

The program will include a talk and discussion in the Museum of Art, Chao Lecture Hall followed by a walking tour tailored to the topic. Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
