Florida Studio Theatre presents the NNPN (National New Play Network) rolling world premiere of this play by Deborah Breevort. It’s based on the true story of a meeting between Black singer Marian Anderson and Jewish scientist Albert Einstein in 1937 that led to a friendship between these very different people, who had both suffered from discrimination. Roy Lichtenstein: Monet’s Garden Goes Pop!

If you somehow haven’t yet made your way to see this exhibition at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens—or if you just want to take it in once more—your last chance arrives this week, as the show ends its run Sunday. You can view Lichtenstein’s take on Monet’s famous Giverny inside the on-site museum, and admire what Selby’s horticulturalists have rendered outside in the artists’ honor as well. The summer season of movies is in full swing at The Ringling, so nip inside the Historic Asolo Theater for some cool air and cool movies. Up this week: the Tim Burton-directed film Dumbo, about that famous flying elephant, at 1 p.m. Thursday (for just $5 more than your ticket price, you can also get admission to the Circus Museum).
