SaraSolo Winter Fest

An Evening with David Auburn

The Pulitzer and Tony-winning playwright of Proof will speak at 5 p.m. about his work and creative process, and he may share from his latest work-in-progress. A collaboration between the Hermitage Artist Retreat and Florida Studio Theatre, this event is offered both in-person on the Hermitage beach and via livestream; registration required at hermitageartistretreat.org.

In Love with Shakespeare

Scenes from several of the Bard’s immortal plays—A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet and Taming of the Shrew—arrive in time for Valentine’s Day, with performances by Players Centre for Performing Arts actors taking place outdoors at the Bazaar on Apricot & Lime. Sur La Bay Music Festival

New College of Florida kicks off its celebration of Black History Month with this virtual—and free—concert, from 7 to 9 p.m. Performers will bring to life the sounds of African-American, LatinX and Caribbean music, ranging from hip-hop to Afro punk and beyond. Sign up here.

Amore—The Greatest Love Songs

Artist Series of Sarasota welcomes vocalist Anthony Nunziata and pianist Bobby Peaco for a brand-new show highlighting songs of love.
