Ringling College of Art and Design Exhibits

School is back in session, and so is the season of exhibits at the college’s galleries—a season dubbed Crossroads: Deconstructing Boundaries in America. Up first are shows featuring works by Deborah Rodriguez (A Thousand Words), the 2021 annual faculty and staff show (spreading over two galleries) and Tom Casmer’s Constructs. P.S. An Act of God

Frequent Venice Theatre actor and director Brad Wages stars, well, as God in this play by Daily Show writer David Javerbaum, in which the Almighty answers some pressing questions about humankind’s greatest concerns. Debbi White and Patrick Mounce join Wages onstage, as archangels. Words and Music: Performance in Process

The Hermitage Artist Retreat welcomes Hermitage Fellows mezzo soprano Thea Lobo and interdisciplinary artist Ni’Ja Whitson, who will share their words, voices and music starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, downtown. St. Armands Family Day

The last Sunday of the month is coming up, and that means another family-friendly day of activities, entertainment and more, outdoors with “Sol of the Circle” on St. Armands Circle.
