WBTT: Sistas in the Name of Soul

Sarasota Orchestra: Moments in Time

May 6-9 live; May 13-18, streaming

There’s more music on tap, of a classical nature, with the orchestra’s closing concert of its Holley Hall season performances. Pianist Jeffrey Kahane leads on Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14. Sarasota Film Festival

Through May 9

The 23rd annual festival continues, both virtually and in-person at CineBistro Siesta Key, and includes screenings of the Sarasota-based Dangerous Ladies, the Midnight Horror Special Centigrade, and the closing night film Dream Horse. The Sarasota Ballet: Images of Dance

May 7-9

You can take in live, outdoor performances by dancers of The Sarasota Ballet Studio Company and students from the Margaret Barbieri Conservatory, on the FSU Center’s Terrace Stage. Included in the repertoire are excerpts from Petipa’s Le Corsaire and Raymonda, along with new choreography by The Sarasota Ballet faculty. Find out more and get your tickets at sarasotaballet.org.

Ringling College: Best of Ringling

Starting May 6

The art and design school’s annual end-of-the-year exhibition, featuring works by students in all disciplines from virtual reality to computer animation to photography and beyond, will be available online at ringling.edu starting tonight. Resilient Retreat Concert Series

May 9

The retreat, which works to empower survivors of trauma, launches its series with the Sarasota Pops Orchestra on Sunday, Mother’s Day, with an outdoor performance at 5:30 p.m. at its property at 13010 Fruitville Road. Englewood Seafood & Music Festival

May 7-9

Mosey on down to Englewood's Dearborn Street Plaza this weekend and dive into fresh seafood dishes from local eateries while listening to live music. Groups include the Sarasota Steel Pan Band, North Jetty Allstars, Kettle of Fish and Fleetwood Max. There's also a marketplace of arts, crafts and other items for sale. Venice Theatre: Folk Legacy Trio

May 7-10

Relive the sounds of folk music from the 1950s through the 1970s with this trio including George Grove (the Kingston Trio), Rick Dougherty (The Limeliters, the Kingston Trio) and Jerry Siggins (doo-wop group The Diamonds). That means songs by such performers as The Weavers, Judy Collins, Joan Baez and Peter, Paul & Mary. Get your tickets in advance at venicetheatre.org.
