What could be better than a day on the water, family style? Check out Nathan Benderson Park’s opportunities to try stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoes, fishing and more, from 10 a. m. to 2 p.m. Fee is $10 per person for ages 7-18 and free for parents and children ages 1-6. Safety practices are in place, and participants may come and go on their own schedules. Learn more and register here.
Artist Talk: Jennifer Packer

Visual artist Packer, the 2020 recipient of the Hermitage Greenfield Prize, speaks along with The Ringling’s curator of modern and contemporary art, Ola Wlusek, about Packer’s works and influences in anticipation of her future exhibition at the museum. Hermitage Artist Retreat artistic director Andy Sandberg moderates, starting at 5:30 p.m. Register here.
Asolo Rep: Fountain

Asolo Rep wraps up its Ground Floor Series: Making Musicals with this new piece set in Florida with book, music and lyrics by Christopher Anselmo and Jared Corak. It tells the story of Andi, born on the night of the biggest hurricane Florida has ever seen and raised by her grandfather in a roadside shop full of oddities. Patrons can access the livestream 30-minute session by visiting the Asolo Rep Facebook page or the company’s YouTube page, starting at 6 p.m.
Disposable City: Mario Alejandro Ariza

Journalist Ariza grew up in Santo Domingo and Miami; his new book, Disposable City: Miami’s Future on the Shores of Climate Change, focuses on the challenges facing the latter.
