Animal Rescue Coalition Hires Two

Animal Rescue Coalition (ARC), a not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide and promote spay and neuter as the key to ending shelter overcrowding and senseless euthanasia, recently welcomed Kayla Murphy as clinic manager and Maggie O’Brien as program manager.

In her new role as clinic manager, Murphy will manage the day-to-day operations for the clinic and support the executive director and medical director to ensure that the organization is meeting its goals and fulfilling its mission. She will also oversee support staff to make sure individual duties are being completed and provide direction, among other duties. Most recently, she served as the manager of ambulatory operations for HealthFit at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

As program manager, O’Brien will supervise and direct all activities associated with ARC programs, including Ready Set Rescue, transport programs to Desoto and Charlotte Counties, Emergency Medical Fund, the feral cat program and ARC’s volunteer program. She will work under with ARC's executive director, Laura McCann, to execute procedures and controls to ensure effective delivery of services, efficient use of funds and timely tracking of outcomes, among other responsibilities. Most recently, she worked at Bishop Animal Shelter S.P.C.A. of Manatee County where she managed a team of 20 employees.
