Sarasota is renowned for its celebrated arts and culture scene, and hosts a full complement of engaging performances, activities and events. Located on Boulevard of the Arts, Auteur will be at the center of it all, offering world-class concerts, ballet and theatre practically at residents’ doorsteps. Without a doubt, the proximity to the best arts and entertainment that Sarasota has to offer—as highlighted below—is one of the main reasons that this new address is so enviable.

Sarasota Opera House
Sarasota Opera House is an exquisite Art Deco structure that has been lovingly restored to its original glory, while creating a venue for the 21st century.

During the summer months, the Sarasota Opera features regular screenings of opera and ballet. A full schedule of productions resumes in the fall. Now in its sixth year, the Opera House’s exclusive “A Taste of Downtown” event (on September 21) officially marks the beginning of the delightful fall production season. Tickets are on sale for this popular event, with its inspiring tastings and selection of fine wines and crafted local brews from downtown eateries. Sarasota’s Youth Opera will also perform at this event, and all proceeds will benefit their pursuit and practice in the study of opera.

Sarasota Ballet
Entering its 29th season, the Sarasota Ballet will showcase 12 ballets from some of the most celebrated choreographers and composers from around the globe. The Sarasota Ballet has received critical acclaim both nationally and internationally under the direction of Ian Webb, former dancer for the Royal Ballet in London, and currently the ballet’s Artistic Director.

The Sarasota Ballet features an array of exciting performances beginning in October. Presales are available now for some of the season’s most popular performances, including the beloved seasonal classic The Nutcracker.

Florida Studio Theatre
Recognized for its contemporary American theatre, Florida Studio Theatre is situated in the heart of downtown Sarasota just moments away from Auteur, boasting the third largest following in the nation with over 30,000 yearly subscribers. The theater has an abundance of scheduled performances for this summer and beyond. Back by popular demand, The Swingaroos: Hollywood Serenade will be on stage through September 2. The music revue is inspired by the “Golden Age of Hollywood,” with classic jazz sounds and dance that play tribute to iconic stars such as Frank Sinatra, Cab Calloway and Fred Astaire.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall has long been referred to as the crown jewel of Sarasota Bay. The purple, seashell-shaped theater hosts a broad spectrum of productions including “top national and international performers, popular comedians, renowned lecture series, world-class symphony orchestras and a compelling mix of classical, modern, and ethnic dance.” More than 100 events have been scheduled for this year’s season…luckily for future Auteur residents, this architectural beauty is only minutes away from their new address.

An Evening of Conversation with Julie Andrews
The Van Wezel invites the city of Sarasota to a special evening event with the legendary Julie Andrews. The beloved actress and performer is recognized most for her talented voice on the Broadway Stage in Camelot and My Fair Lady, as well as her time on the big screen in The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. Andrews is joined by her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, for a lively conversation and Q&A at this featured event on November 14. This exclusive conversation is a testimony to the diverse offerings put forth by the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art
The Ringling is the State Art Museum of Florida and one of the largest university museum complexes in the nation. It boasts a large collection of Sarasota’s early history and is well known for its impressive architecture and beauty of the museum’s grounds. The latest exhibition, “Interpolations: Artworks from The Ringling and Monda Collections” is on view through September 8. The exhibition features work from The Ringling’s permanent collection of modern and contemporary art, in addition to contributions from Keith D. and Linda L. Monda’s collection. The exhibit includes three additional pieces from artists Teo González, Yayoi Kusama, and Richard Serra.

With a Boulevard of the Arts address, Auteur residents will be in the heart of Sarasota’s thriving arts and culture.
