On April 8, the Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) will preview "Sarasota in Motion," the city's master transportation plan, which will kick off later this spring. In addition to traffic, city planners also are examining how to move people around the city safely and comfortably on foot, bicycle and improved transit service, and in new ways such as automated and connected vehicles, water taxi, and more .

Colleen McGue, the city's chief transportation planner, will present the plan and give insight into its development process, as well as information to determine what citizens' role will be in that process during input from the community and the public participation opportunities.

CONA meetings are free and open to the public, as well as members of the more than 70 associations the organization represents and its individual members. Meetings are held at the Sarasota Garden Club, 1131 Boulevard of the Arts. Socials precede the meetings at 6:30 p.m.; the meetings begin at 7 p.m.  For more information, go to conasarasota.org/meetings.html.
