FCCI Insurance Group was founded in Sarasota, Florida, by a small group of contractors who formed a self-insurance workers’ compensation fund. Today, FCCI has 850 teammates across six regions, doing business in 19 states, plus D.C., and continues to grow. 1959: FCCI’s first ledger, documenting the commencement of business. The ledger shows its humble beginnings with $3,776.11 in its bank account. Today, FCCI’s investment portfolio and total assets are $2.4 billion.

1961: 1490 First Street downtown Sarasota. This building housed the office of the Sarasota Builders Exchange, along with Gilbert Waters Associates public relations firm and FCCI’s operations. 

2001: FCCI relocated its corporate headquarters to a state-of-the-art, 260,000-square-foot building in Lakewood Ranch.

2018: FCCI teammates volunteering at the Celery Fields in Sarasota. FCCi provides teammates with up to eight hours of company-paid time each year for volunteerism. To date, they’ve donated 13,748 hours.
