Sarasota's Children’s Guardian Fund recently launched a new back-to-school shopping pilot program with the help of a $10,000 gift from an anonymous donor. The program offers back-to-school supplies to children removed from abusive or neglectful homes. Within 10 days of launching the program, the nonprofit funded over 100 back-to-school requests, totaling more than $20,000. The intent is to allow children who have been removed from their homes to start school on an equal footing with other students.
