The next two meetings of the Sarasota Tiger Bay Club will feature debates between candidates running for Sarasota County Commission. On Thursday, July 19, candidates for the district four seat, Democrat Wesley Beggs and Republicans Al Maio (the incumbent) and Lourdes Ramirez, will be featured. On Thursday, Aug. 2, candidates from district two, Republicans Alexandra Coe and Christian Ziegler and Democrat Ruta Maria Jouniari, will debate. Both events take place during lunch, with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by the panels at noon. The debates take place at Michael's on East, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota. Tickets are $27-$32. The primary election for both races is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 28.
