Twelve years ago, Barbara Vanderkolk Gardner retired from her career as a health care executive and after taking classes and consulting with seasoned professionals, launched her interior design practice, turning her longtime hobby into a successful business. 

Since that time, she has appeared on magazine covers and in feature articles, won design awards and has helped create beautiful homes for more than 130 clients from New York to Florida and overseas.

An advocate for women and children throughout her life, Barbara has chaired major fund-raising galas for SAFE Place & Rape Crisis Center and now serves on their board of directors.
