InStride Therapy, a nonprofit Nokomis center that offers horseback riding as a therapeutic or rehabilitative treatment, is holding a dedication ceremony for its new sensory arena and water- and beach-themed area from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8. The new facilities will help those with challenges in processing sensory information, such as movement, touch, smell, sight and sound, by improving how the brain interprets and integrates information. The beach-themed sensory area, Sawyer's Corner, was created to honor InStride client Sawyer Gordon through the Sawyer Rhyne Gordon Memorial Fund. The facility is located at 1629 Ranch Road, Nokomis.
