Home Sales Increased Between July and August, While Median Prices Declined

The number of closed sales of single-family homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties increased between July and August, while median sale prices declined.

The number of closed sales of single-family homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties increased between July and August, while median sale prices declined, according to new data published by the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee. The number of closed sales in Sarasota County increased from 683 to 725, while the median sale price dropped from $260,000 to $258,000; in Manatee County, the number of sales increased from 522 to 592, while the median sale price decreased from $300,000 to under $287,000. In Sarasota County, the number of townhouses and condos sold decreased between July and August, from 306 to 286, and the median sale price declined from just over $214,ooo to $213,500. During the same time span, in Manatee County, the number of townhouses and condos sold increased from 198 to 216 and the median sale price rose from $165,000 to $183,000.
