Over 160 Hurricane Irma shelters remained open as of Wednesday morning, housing just over 21,000 Floridians. That total includes more than 10,000 residents with special needs. One special needs shelter remains open in Manatee County, while two specials needs shelters and two general shelters remain open in Sarasota County.
