Lucy Nicandri, executive director of Suncoast Charities for Children, was recently presented with the Sarasota Sunrise Rotary Club's first annual David R. Mills “Service Above Self” Award. The award was created to recognize individuals who serve the Sarasota area. Suncoast Charities for Children is a 501(c)(3) that provides annual grants to the Suncoast Foundation to support children, teens and adults with special needs and their families. Its annual fundraising events include Thunder By the Bay, the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival and more.
