The Sarasota-Manatee Human Resources Association was recently presented with the Excel Platinum Award by the Society for Human Resource Management. The award was created to recognize human resources associations for advancing the profession. The Sarasota-Manatee association increased its membership by 10 percent in 2016 and worked with CareerSource Suncoast to help those reentering the workforce by reviewing résumés, conducting mock interviews and providing career coaching. The organization also helped connect employers with veterans, formerly incarcerated individuals and the LGBT community.
