Florida consumer confidence dropped in May for the second month in a row, declining by 2.4 points from 95.7 in April to 93.3, according to new research published by the University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research. "Among the five components that make up the [consumer sentiment] index, one increased and four decreased," according to a summary of the results. "Perceptions of one’s personal financial situation now compared with a year ago showed the biggest drop, falling 5.9 points from 91 to 85.1. May’s less-positive outlook was shared by all Floridians across age, gender and income groups." The data is based on a survey of 415 Floridians reached on their cellphones.
