The 33rd annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival is taking place through Tuesday, July 4. Powerboat and AquaX Pro race teams will compete for the checkered flag on Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2, just off Lido Beach, with televised coverage to over 100 countries beginning in late July. The race will air on Fox Sports and Comcast Regional Sports Networks this year, with the addition of national broadcaster Eleven Sports. Last year's festival generated $37.2 million in economic impact for the area, according to the nonprofit that produces the event.
