SCORE, a national nonprofit that encourages business mentoring, recently selected Manasota SCORE as its Chapter of the Year in the Mid-Sized Market category, and No. 2 Chapter of the Year overall. Manasota SCORE has helped 217 new businesses get started and helped create 654 non-owner jobs. Total services provided by the chapter grew 51 percent during fiscal year 2016, for a total of 9,589 chapter services. The Manasota chapter has nearly 80 volunteers providing education and mentoring services in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The organization conducts business startup and development workshops and hosts CEO roundtables and more.
