The Sarasota Herald-Tribune on Tuesday named Matthew Sauer as the newspaper's new executive editor. Sauer has been a reporter and editor with the paper for 24 years, and had served as the interim executive editor since the departure of former executive editor Bill Church, who was promoted to senior vice president at the Herald-Tribune's parent company, GateHouse Media, last September.
