The number of American housing starts dropped by 6.8 percent between February and March.

The number of American housing starts dropped by 6.8 percent between February and March, according to new numbers released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The number of starts dropped to a seasonally adjusted rate of 1.2 million, down from February's 1.3 million, but still above the March 2016 rate of 1.1 million.
