University Appoints New Board Member
Kelley Lavin, the publisher of Sarasota Magazine, 941CEO and Venice Magazine, was recently appointed to the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee's campus board. A media executive for more than 25 years at such publications as Chicago Magazine and Vogue, Lavin was appointed to the five-member board by the college's regional chancellor, Sandra Stone. The board functions as the college's governing body. Members serve single four-year terms but can be reappointed once by trustees. In addition to her publishing career, Lavin created marketing programs for companies as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft and Colgate. She also operated a marketing consulting company specializing in custom publishing with Walmart as a client.
