Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Monday proposed the state cut $180 million in taxes next year, his final year in office. The cuts, which are among the smallest Scott has advocated in his two terms, are centered around reducing the costs for driver's license renewals and continuing tax holidays for shoppers preparing for hurricane season and the new school year. Last year, the governor sought more than $600 million in tax cuts, mostly for businesses.
Next year's session of the Florida Legislature convenes on Jan. 9.
