Sarasota's Patterson Foundation will support four nonprofits participating in its Margin & Mission Ignition initiative by matching contributions made toward the startup costs of each organization’s earned-income plans. The nonprofits are the Humane Society of Manatee County, the Peace River Wildlife Center, the Prospect Riding Center and Satchel’s Last Resort. Funds contributed to the four will be matched dollar for dollar up to 50 percent of each organization’s startup budget by Feb. 15, 2018. The goal is to jumpstart each nonprofit’s ability to implement entrepreneurial plans that strengthen their capacity to serve the community. This is the third year that The Patterson Foundation has presented Margin & Mission Ignition. Organizations participating in the initiative have collectively earned almost $1.5 million.
