The pediatrician Jose Tavarez, M.D., recently began accepting new patients in Lakewood Ranch for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s First Physicians Group network. Tavarez joins pediatricians Katherine Keeley, M.D.; Wendy Hurwitz, M.D.; Charlotta Langley, M.D.; and Rene Sueiro, M.D. Tavarez succeeds longtime pediatrician Robert Shamsey, M.D., who retired from the practice last month after more than 42 years of taking care of children in the community.
